South Devon Poundmaker

South Devon Poundmakers are the resulting offspring of South Devon genetics on other breeds of cattle. Poundmakers are identified as an English outcross for other English or Continental breeds of cattle.

The North American South Devon Association has a breed registry set up to record all percentages of South Devon influenced cattle, so cattlemen can document the breeding process in developing cow herds.

Cattlemen may report commercial cows being covered by South Devon bulls or South Devon Poundmaker bulls. South Devon influenced cows being covered by other breeds may also be recorded in this process.
